Enterprise AI moves from pilot to mandate. The 55th AIBP Conference & Exhibition Thailand gathered Thailand's top enterprise and public sector leaders on 2-3 September at W Hotel Bangkok to confront the harder questions of AI at scale - ownership, governance, and who answers when the system acts on its own.

Asst. Prof. Polawat Witoolkollachit of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society opened C&E Thailand 2026 by framing the digital economy as a national growth engine — set to reach ~29% of GDP in 2026 — and set out three priorities: digital infrastructure under Cloud First, turning data and AI into economic value through initiatives like ThaiLLM, and building digital trust through anti-scam and cybersecurity efforts. He closed with an invitation to the private sector to invest and build capabilities in Thailand as a base for ASEAN growth.

Thailand's largest enterprises have spent three to five years and significant capital on AI. Boards are no longer satisfied with pilot counts and press releases — they want to know what it is actually producing, where the returns are real, and who is accountable when they are not. This session brings together the most senior decision-makers in Thai enterprise to give an unfiltered account of where AI has delivered, where it has disappointed, and what genuine AI leadership actually requires at the top of an organisation.

Autonomous AI agents create a new class of risk — "AI resiliency" — that traditional security stacks weren't built for. Veeam + Securiti AI's Agent Commander closes the gap by detecting agent risks, enforcing runtime data guardrails, and undoing unintended agent actions with file-level recovery.

Before your AI governance policy was written, your employees had already moved on. They are using ChatGPT to draft board papers, Copilot to summarise contracts, and third-party AI tools to process customer data — none of it sanctioned, little of it logged, and almost none of it assessed for risk. This session maps the hidden AI footprint that exists inside Thai enterprises today and asks the harder question: is the answer stricter controls, or is ungoverned AI adoption a signal that official channels are simply moving too slowly?

Your AI vendor passed your questionnaire. They have the certifications. Their pitch deck says enterprise grade. But when did you last look at who they are buying their infrastructure from, whose foundation model they are running on, and whether any of that has been independently verified? The risk runs deeper than vendor selection. Your vendor's model may run on a foundation model from a US hyperscaler, fine-tuned by a third-party consultancy, deployed on regional cloud infrastructure, and accessed by a system integrator your security team has never met. At any point in that chain, a compromise propagates downstream — and most Thai enterprises have no visibility past the first tier.

While 43% of Thai enterprises use AI, 74% of these have only deployed the most basic use cases, and only 4% have deployed agentic AI. As NECTEC highlights, the core bottleneck is not data volume, but access, governance, and latency. Replicating data into centralized stores creates lag and exposes firms to compliance risks. This session explores how public and private organizations are using Active Context to overcome these operational bottlenecks and unlock the full value of agentic AI.

Thai retailers and banks have invested heavily in AI personalisation, yet it often breaks down where it matters most: the branch, the checkout, the call centre, the app. This session explores why the gap between centralised AI investment and frontline execution persists, and what leading enterprises are changing to close it.

Thai supply chains have been stress-tested by pandemic disruption, geopolitical realignment, and climate volatility. AI is now being deployed across demand forecasting, logistics optimisation, procurement intelligence, and real-time visibility — but the gap between proof of concept and operational scale remains wide. The data is fragmented across suppliers. The legacy ERP systems were not built for real-time AI input. The operations teams who need to act on AI outputs do not always trust them. This session brings together practitioners from energy, FMCG, and industrial sectors to share where AI is generating genuine supply chain value today — not where it might, but where it demonstrably has — and what the unglamorous data and integration work behind it actually looked like.

Every large Thai enterprise has a version of the same problem. A core system that is too embedded to remove, too outdated to build on top of, and too expensive to replace. AI has made this calculus more urgent and more complicated. Do you build proprietary AI on legacy infrastructure that was never designed to support it? Do you buy a vendor solution and inherit the integration debt? Do you wrap the old system in a modern interface and hope the seams hold?
